Introducing... Mad Jessie
Next up is MJ from Mad Jessie. You may remember MJ from St Patrick's day at the Magpie Collective - she was painting on the shamrocks! In this interview MJ shares her biggest high, some words of wisdom and we find YET ANOTHER member of the Bob's Burgers fanclub.

What's been your biggest high in your journey so far?
Being "recognised" by a customer - and knowing who they were too! Made both our days! We had connected through my emails during covid, was lovely to see them!
Have you ever come close to quitting? If so, what changed your mind?
yes. yes yes yes. I'm still going to make whether I quit or not, so for now I keep going. Also, the people who 'make it', are just those who don't quit so...
What are your biggest influences? Any favourite artists, practices, craftsfolk, musicians, entrepreneurs?
The sea. The forest. The outdoors. Lynda Barry. Frida. Moebus. Klimt. All craft. All making. Hand made everything - lace. Kindness. Embroidery. Tech.

Any words of wisdom for someone just starting out?
focus on the next step, not the whole staircase - but make sure you are on the right staircase!
Do you have some plans or dreams for the future? Tell us your visions!
I would love to one day live on a houseboat with a wee stove and have more space than I do now
Have you visited the Magpie Collective? What did you do in Waterford during your visit?
I love the Magpie, my go-to for all gifts and birthdays and cards.
Give us some Waterford recommendations! eg. good places for a coffee or pint, places to eat and drink, museums to visit, things to do
- Coffee: Wich & Brew (dog friendly)
- Pint: Phil Grimes (dog friendly),
- Eat: Breakfast at Under the Clock,
- Brunch at Bishops Palace,
- Lunch at Bun Cha,
- Dinner at La Vida Loca or Kuro.
- Visit: the Maypark trail, Ballinakill woods, St Johns river greenway, Waterford nature park. Go get cake from the Cake Dame in Cheekpoint on a Saturday or Sunday and then hike up the minaun.
Honestly, I'm obsessed with the Magpie Collective. Its IMPOSSIBLE to visit without leaving with something lovely!!!!
Your Netflix/podcast/book recommendation for this month?
Im just watching Bobs Burgers and the GBBO at the moment
