Next up is Sorcha Ryan who started Sorcha Ryan Design in 2018. Sorcha got nominated for Irish Made Award in 2024 and we completely understand why. Customers gravitate to her refreshing and vibrant prints of the Southeast. Sorcha shares some pretty cool influences and some great things to do in Waterford!
Have you ever come close to quitting? If so, what changed your mind?
Yes! Those are usually passing thoughts which I never give much time to, and keep pushing forward.
What are your biggest influences? Any favourite artists, practices, craftsfolk, musicians, entrepreneurs?
Any words of wisdom for someone just starting out?
Start small and keep building your business, look at what your competitors are doing, put yourself out there as much as you can!

To have a travel poster for each of the counties in Ireland, to have my illustrations on a variety of products and to be in a lot of stockists around the country
