Introducing... The Wicklow Crafter

Introducing... The Wicklow Crafter

Next up in our series of interviews is Ciara, the ceramicist of The Wicklow Crafter :) Ciara starter 2 years ago and their biggest high in their journey so far has been selling IRL in shops. Folks who call into the shop absolutely fall in love with the tiny ceramic houses <3 What is it about them that captivates us!?

Have you ever come close to quitting?  If so, what changed your mind?
Never

What are your biggest influences? Any favourite artists, practices, craftsfolk, musicians, entrepreneurs?
I just go with what I like really. What I’d buy myself.

Any words of wisdom for someone just starting out?
You got to fail to make good art.

Do you have some plans or dreams for the future? Tell us your visions!
To continue to find a style that’s unique to me.

If you don't live in Waterford, have you visited the Magpie Collective? What did you do in Waterford during your visit?
Shopped and went for lunch.

Want to give any shout outs? Whose work are you obsessed with at the minute?
Obsessed with a technique at the moment - paper transfer onto mugs like @sarahmurray_ceramics. I’ll do this technique with my own drawings/designs.

Your Netflix/podcast/book recommendation for this month?
Where can folks shop your products and find you online?
In The Magpie Collective, Waterford. On Instagram @thewicklowcrafter and at the website thewicklowcrafter.com.
